The Sun Lakes Republican Club will feature “Election Year Issues and Insights” with our legislative district state candidates at its monthly meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 14, at 6:30 p.m., in the Navajo Room of the Sun Lakes Country Club, at 25601 S. Sun Lakes Blvd., in Sun Lakes. The public is invited! Please bring your neighbors and friends! Our mission is “Education for an Informed Electorate.”
Some of the candidates who will present their vision for preserving life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, as stated in our founding documents, include State Senator J.D. Mesnard, State Representative candidates Liz Harris and Julie Willoughby, and Chandler School Board candidate Charlotte Golla. In addition, a spokesperson for the Kari Lake gubernatorial campaign will also answer your questions. Members should watch their email inbox for updates on other state candidates who will also be in attendance.
State Senator J.D. Mesnard will share his vision for the next two years. He has written laws that helped create jobs, supported our small businesses by cutting bureaucratic red tape, protected health coverage for Arizonans with preexisting conditions, directed more money into our kids’ classrooms, created the Teacher Academy at our universities, helped employees get wages rightfully owed, protected survivors of domestic violence and sexual abuse, confronted the opioid epidemic, shielded seniors from financial exploitation, promoted veteran-friendly college campuses, and increased savings for the state’s rainy-day fund (proven crucial during the pandemic). Mesnard also personally sponsored the largest education investment in state history, dramatically boosting teacher pay 20%.
Kari Lake is the former anchor for Fox 10 News in Phoenix who walked away from the mainstream media despite being number one in the ratings for more than two decades. She is running for Governor of Arizona on a platform of common-sense conservatism dedicated to individual liberties, low taxes, limited regulation, and protecting Arizona’s great Western heritage.
Candidates will speak about their qualifications and proposed state solutions for many of the key issues of concern to Arizona voters, including how to handle the rise in human and drug trafficking across our southern border, as well as how to ensure that all future Arizona elections will legally conform to the requirements set forth in our Arizona Constitution, including proof of U.S. citizenship. The candidates will discuss their solutions to the negative impacts that the federal government’s recent justice system actions, cancel culture, critical race theory policy in education, dependence on foreign energy sources and materials, and inflationary economic policies are having on Arizonans’ safety and freedoms.
