The 2016 presidential election will be less than one month away when the Restless Minds discussion group holds its October meeting.
So it seems appropriate to devote the evening to a free-wheeling discussion of the election, one of the creepiest, most contentious and unsavory in the nation’s history. Or is it just the beginning of a new normal in politics?
The discussion group will meet at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 11, in the Sewing Room of Oakwood’s Arts and Crafts Center. The group’s monthly meetings are open to anyone with an inquisitive, open mind. There are no dues or membership requirements. Just show up and participate in the discussion.
In addition to assessing the presidential campaign and the races for control of both houses of Congress, some discussion time will be devoted to Arizona races and ballot issues. This year, Arizona voters will decide whether to legalize recreational use of marijuana and significantly raise the minimum wage.
