Philosophers for centuries have debated over what constitutes an educated man (or woman).
The Restless Minds’ discussion group will try to identify what it means when it meets at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 12 in the Sewing Room of Oakwood’s Arts and Crafts Center.
Restless Minds is a group open to all people with inquisitive minds. There are no dues or membership requirements. Just show up and participate.
Bill Santos will lead January’s discussion on the many aspects of an education, and he’ll ask if we have ways to determine who is truly educated.
Other questions likely to be raised during the two-hour exchange of ideas include:
Does an educated person have a responsibility to help improve society?
Is an open mind essential to an educated person? Is a college degree essential?
Should an educated person have a broad liberal arts education?
