Risen Savior is bringing ‘The Tabernacle Experience’ to Sun Lakes

We don’t have to travel to the Holy Land to experience it. It’s coming to our neighborhood! Members of Risen Savior Lutheran Church will be erecting a realistic, life-size replica of the original Tabernacle of Moses that moved with the people of Israel across the desert on their journey to the Holy Land over 2,000 years ago.

This Tabernacle has been visited by more than 200,000 people in U.S. cities and towns, enhancing their knowledge and understanding of the Bible…as their individual audio journey through the Tabernacle brought images of the Old Testament to life.

One step inside, the Tabernacle courtyard transforms visitors into Old Testament times where they will experience a day in the life of an Old Testament priest as they engage in the duties and rituals within the Tabernacle.

During their tour, they will be clothed in the white linen garment of the priest.

At the Altar of Burnt Offering they will lay their sacrifice on its consuming fire.

Then, they will approach the Laver and wash their hands in preparation for the work of the Lord.

At the lampstand they will light an oil lamp and thereafter participate in communion at the table of bread.

The smoke rising at the altar of incense will heighten their senses and remind them of their prayers ascending to the very throne of God.

As they draw back the curtain and enter the most holy place their journey will culminate at Ark of the Covenant and the mercy seat.

Rev. Ron Burcham, Senior Pastor of Risen Savior commented, “As pastors we look forward to providing opportunities where people can participate in effective faith-enrichment experiences that will provide them with a fresh perspective on the Bible and elevate their knowledge and love of the Old Testament. Visiting the Tabernacle of the Wilderness is a private, multi-sensory encounter. We invite everyone to take the journey and experience the life-changing truths of the Tabernacle. Who knows, if you haven’t been to church in a long time, the Tabernacle experience may help you remember why it might be a good idea to get reacquainted with God.”
