Risen Savior hosts NovemberFest Gala – all residents invited

Pastors Ron Burcham and Mark Hoffmann of Risen Savior Lutheran Church met today to extend a formal invitation to all Sun Lakes residents to attend this year’s NovemberFest party which will be held in the Fellowship Hall on the patio and on the front campus of Risen Savior from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 4.

NovemberFest is an Oktoberfest type of celebration which features a live Bavarian Oom-Pah band, brats, hotdogs, sauerkraut, potato salad, non-alcoholic beverages and dessert for $5.00 per person. Beer and wine are also available for $2.00 each. Almost 500 people attended NovemberFest in 2016.

Rev. Hoffman said, “We know that October is the traditional time for this event, but by waiting until November, we give the majority of our snowbirds an opportunity to return to Arizona in time for the party. In addition to the food and music, gift cards are awarded as door prizes throughout the afternoon, and a large gift basket is awarded as the grand prize.”

When asked about their rationale for inviting all Sun Lakes residents to the event, Rev. Ron Burcham, Risen Savior Senior Pastor, responded, “The reason that we are inviting our Sun Lakes neighbors to share in the celebration is simple … we greatly value the very special relationship that we enjoy with our Sun Lakes neighbors and want to say thank you for their support of our many community outreach events.”

Pastor Burcham added, “For the last four years, generous Sun Lakes residents have joined with our members in donating checks and food that were instrumental in fueling our Spring Food Drives, Thanksgiving Turkey Drives and Community Christmas Concerts to become very successful philanthropic events. Together, we have provided over 20 tons of food to the Chandler Food Bank that has delivered needed food assistance to members of our community who struggle to put food on their tables.

“Our NovemberFest has become a special annual event where we can all celebrate the value of working together to make Chandler an even better community for everyone. Pastor Mark and I look forward to meeting a lot of people and shaking lots of hands at NovemberFest. Please feel free to gather some of your friends and neighbors and join us for a few hours of fun and good food on the Risen Savior campus,” he said.
