The Sun Lakes Roadrunners RV Club has enjoyed a very busy season. There were rallies to Fort McDowell; Quartzsite; Benson; Lake Havasu and Lake Powell. The special social activities for the year included the November welcome-back meeting, the Christmas Dinner/Dance and, most recently, the Spring Fling picnic at Sisk Park. In addition to this, many of our members take the opportunity to meet often for dinner at various local restaurants.

At the end of March, a large group of members attended the Lake Havasu rally and had a great time. Some of the highlights of the trip were the corned beef and cabbage dinner, taking the ferry to the casino and turning into pirates at Pirates Cove on the Lake Havasu Boat Tour. A group of those pirates served as the Wagon Masters for the rally.

In April, 81 members attended the Spring Fling picnic and had a super day. The weather was fantastic, so people could enjoy the putting course and playing bocce ball on the courts. Of course, there were delicious snacks supplied by the members followed by a chicken dinner provided by the club.

Near the end of April was one of the last rallies for the year. That was a great trip to Lake Powell. And now that the year is winding down, there is a group of members planning their “exit” rally to the Central California coast, after which most will part ways for their own summer adventures which include travels all across the USA.

The last meeting of the Sun Lakes Roadrunners RV Club will be May 9 in the Navajo Room at the Sun Lakes Country Club. We serve refreshments at 6:30 p.m. with the meeting following at 7:00 p.m. New members and visitors are always welcome.
