On Friday, December 19 the Sun Lakes Table Tennis Club (SLTTC) hosted the Saddlebrooke Table Tennis Club in its fourth annual Robson Cup Championship Match. Both singles and doubles matches between the teams were set up as best of three games, each to 11 points. In the singles matches, the visiting Saddlebrooke team won seven matches to SLTTC’s five matches. The Sun Lakes team members worked well in pairs to win four doubles matches compared to Saddlebrooke’s three matches. In the end, it was the Saddlebrooke team that got to take home the prestigious Robson Cup Trophy by edging out Sun Lakes 10-9.

Playing for the SLTTC were Alan Behr, Jim Spolar, Bill Aichele, Gerry Vogelsang, Tom Sanders, Walt Schroeder, Steve Weitz, Steve Chambers and Dave Novikoff.

Next year the Sun Lakes team will travel to Saddlebrooke to fight to bring the Robson Cup Trophy back to Sun Lakes where it belongs.
