The Sun Lakes Rotary Club honors three of its members annually. In separate articles, Charles Loew was recognized as Rotarian of the Year and Don Prestin as the Service Above Self winner.
Last month, Peter Meade received a special honor from the Sun Lakes Rotary Club when he was named Good Guy for the year 2016. The Good Guy award was created by Coulter Motors in memory of long-time Sun Lakes’ Rotarian and World War II Army Air Corps veteran and prisoner of war hero John McCain who passed away in 2009.
After years of service in retail management (Target and Dick’s Sporting Goods), Peter joined Sun Lakes Rotary in October 2014. Peter’s service to the club since then has been extraordinary. He will be President-Elect for the Rotary year 2016-2017. In the meantime, he has spearheaded several special events internally as well as programs that bring in revenue to enhance the club’s charity work.
Peter’s enthusiasm and promotional ideas that he instills within the club well qualify him for the prestigious Good Guy award that was presented to him at the April 19 Rotary meeting. He and his wife Karen live in Oakwood.
