Rotary District Governor Tonya Watson spoke to the members of San Tan Crown Rotary Club on December 8. Among the issues discussed were initiatives to increase volunteerism directed toward the needs of the elderly in our community and what all Rotarians can do to add value to the lives of those they serve in the community. In the past few years the Rotary organization has relaxed a number of its membership guidelines in order to allow local clubs and Districts the flexibility to serve the needs of their members. One notable new initiative of the San Tan Crown Rotary Club, serving Sun Lakes and Chandler, is a focus on inviting citizens to volunteer with us on certain community activities without committing to membership. It’s been a lot of fun and YES, a number of these volunteers are now active members of our club!
