The popular series of faith-based films – presented by Sun Lakes Community Church – will continue on Wednesdays throughout July, but there is a time change we’re moving to the afternoon, starting at 1:30 p.m.
Everyone is welcome. It is free at the Chapel Center next door to the Sun Lakes Chapel, across the street from the Sun Lakes Country Club.
The films in July are as follows:
July 3 – Seven Days in Utopia – A talented young golfer is set on making the pro tour. But his first big shot turns out to be a public disaster.
July 10 – God Is Not Dead – A college freshman enrolls in a philosophy class and when his professor demands that each student sign a declaration that God is dead, he goes the limit to defend his faith.
July 17 – God Is Not Dead 2 – A high school history teacher comes under fire for answering a student’s question about Jesus. When Grace refuses to apologize, the school board votes to suspend her and threatens to revoke her teaching certificate.
July 24 – War Room – Tony and Elizabeth Jordan have it all — great jobs, a beautiful daughter and their dream house. But appearances can be deceiving – their world is actually crumbling under the strain of a failing marriage. But their lives take an unexpected turn when Miss Clara proposes a “war room,” a battle plan of prayer for her family.
July 31 – Return of the Hiding Place – is based upon the factual accounting of Hans Poley’s World War II encounter with Corrie ten Boom, his involvement in the Dutch resistance and the wartime harboring of Jewish refugees. A non-Jewish fugitive himself for refusing to pledge his allegiance to the Nazi party, Poley was the first person hidden from the Nazis in Ten Boom House.
Get out of the heat, bring a friend, enjoy some of the best motion pictures ever. Free of charge – everyone welcome!
