Sews-N-Sews has had a great return from our COVID-19 hiatus with our programs in October and November.
In October, Peggy Morris, assisted by her husband Hal, really wowed us with her trunk show. The quilts were all sizes, from lap quilts and child-size quilts up to king-size. She pieces, appliques, embroiders, follows patterns, and/or creates her own designs. The colors and combinations she used together were absolutely beautiful. In addition to the quilts, she also displayed several purses and bags she made, as well as embroidered pillows, table runners, placemats, and wall hangings. Do you like a little “bling” on your projects? She also uses punch rhinestones to enhance some of her projects. Peggy’s trunk show was very creative and inspirational.
Our November program was a fashion show presented by our members. We saw embroidered, quilted, and fiber art clothing; children’s clothes; knitted items; and several jackets, blouses, and slacks. We marveled at our members’ talent.
The December program will be our annual holiday luncheon with entertainment. The December meeting will start at noon rather than our usual time. We always look forward to the comradery of the holiday luncheon.
Sew-N-Sews meets the second Wednesday of each month in the Navajo Room at Sun Lakes Country Club. Our business meeting starts at 1 p.m. Not a member yet? Join us as a guest. The new member fee is $25, which includes the first-year membership and a Sew-N-Sews name badge.
