Happy New Year!

2026 is off and running, and we’re already in our second month! A lot of great things are in the works for our Sew-N-Sews members this year.

Holiday Luncheon Recap

Our Holiday Luncheon was a wonderful success and was enjoyed by everyone who attended. A big thank you to all who helped make it possible, especially Rita Grant and Connie Hogan for their time and effort!

February Meeting Details

Due to a scheduling conflict with the Navajo Room, our Feb. 11 meeting will be held at Sun Lakes United Methodist Church, Lindsay Hall, at 9248 E. Riggs Road, Sun Lakes. Doors open at 12:30 p.m., and the meeting is from 1 to 3 p.m.

March Meeting

We’ll be back in our usual location at the SLCC Navajo Room for our March 11 general meeting at 1 p.m.

Our January guest speaker, Marla Hattabaugh, a Valley quilter with over 30 years of experience, shared her expertise on color choices, fabric dying, printing, stamping, and beautiful quilt piecing.

Club Updates

In February, we look forward to a presentation by Sharon Bigelow on “All Things Felting.”

Raffle News

A 1921 Singer Featherweight (Model 221) sewing machine was generously donated by Marcia Moore. We will be hosting a raffle for the machine during January, February, and March. Tickets are $5 each or 5 for $20.

Cricut Special Interest Group Update

The club has purchased a Cricut machine for the Cricut Special Interest Group. It is now stored in the cabinet.

Children’s Charities

Members of this group are working on kits for the Easter Baskets project. The group will be meeting in March to complete the assembly of baskets prior to Easter. All members are invited to volunteer to assist in the project.

We currently have 161 members on our roster. We welcome new guests to come, check us out at our monthly meetings, and even join us as members! For more information, email sewnsews1@gmail.com.
