Sew-N-Sews Plans a Busy Summer

Phyllis Prysock

Although Sew-N-Sews does not hold general meetings during June, July, and August, we have a full schedule planned to use our allotted time in the Oakwood Arts & Crafts building Sewing Room.

One of the first summer classes was the Uncle Gnome Pillow Wrap. The pillow wraps for different holidays are made to “wrap” around a pillow of your choice, creating a pillow for every occasion.

Coming up are classes on Needle Wool Felting, a Sewing Mat, Fabric Basket, Needle Case and Thread Catcher, Embroidery Machine Coaster, Mug Rug, Tablet/Kindle/Laptop Cover, and a Basket for All Seasons. Members were sent information on these activities in the last newsletter and will be notified of any changes or additions via email.

Our regularly scheduled Charity and Special Interest Group meetings are also held each month during the summer months. Children’s Charities meets on the first Thursday from 1 to 5 p.m., Pads4Paws meets the third Friday afternoon at 1 p.m. and the following Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 or 3 p.m., and Walker Bags meets on the fourth Monday from 1 to 4 p.m. Also meeting on a regular basis are Cricut/Cutting Machines, Featherweights, Embroidery Group, and Sew What?
