The program for the November 11 meeting of Sew-N-Sews will be Mary Coonts, serger and sewing instructor. Mary is an experienced sewist and teacher. She has a Master’s Degree in education and taught at community colleges for 10 years and now teaches at various stores and events around Arizona. Mary has been sewing for 55 years, serging for 35 years and doing machine embroidery since 2000. Mary has won a number of ribbons at the Arizona State Fair including Best of Show in 2013.

Mary will have a slide show and trunk show, which will include tips, techniques and samples to see from all aspects of sewing including sewing, serging, machine embroidery, heirloom sewing, sewing for children and embellishments.

Sew-N-Sews is a club whose focus is sewing and various needle arts, which is reflected in the programs each month. The club meets September through May on the second Wednesday of the month at 1:30 p.m. Currently, we meet in the Oakwood Ballroom; however, starting in January 2016, we will be meeting on the same day and same time but the location will change to the Navajo Room of Sun Lakes Country Club.

If you have an interest in sewing or other needle arts, come and experience a meeting. You may be surprised at what you’ll see and learn.
