Shalom Hadassah, as well as almost every organization, has felt the effects of this terrible pandemic and wonders when we’ll see, or even begin to see, the light at the end of the tunnel. All the terrific ideas Shalom Hadassah had for meetings, of course, are on indefinite hold.
However, even in these unprecedented times, we have to be grateful for what we have. As far as we can ascertain, none of our members of Shalom Hadassah have fallen ill from COVID-19, and that is truly a blessing. And, of course, the Jewish Holidays are right around the corner. Some Shalom Hadassah members may be fortunate enough to actually observe Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur in person with their families, while others will communicate via Zoom and other electronic means. In either case, we need to give thanks for what we have, rather than bemoan what we don’t have.
Shalom Hadassah wishes each and every one of you a healthy and happy New Year! And please continue taking every precaution to remain safe so that when we can once again congregate, you will be right there with all of us.
In the meantime, if you have any ideas or suggestions for our chapter, please feel free to reach out to Barbara Silverman, President of Shalom Hadassah, at [email protected]. She is always happy to hear from the membership.
