Sisk Park Bocce teams finish 1-4 in tournament

Teams from the Sisk Park Bocce Ball club placed first through fourth in competition with the Sun Lakes Country Club Oasis Team in a tournament February 12 at Sisk Park.

Four teams from each club faced off in a round-robin competition, with each team playing three games against teams from the other club. Teams were awarded 11 points for winning each game, plus one point for their margin of victory.

Sisk Park Team 4 finished first with 57 points. Team members Dorothy Bobek-Vacin, Doc Heckler, Tim Donovan and Maria Racano each received a $20 gift card redeemable at the Palo Verde and Cottonwood restaurants or Pro Shops.

Gift cards in the amount of $10 went to the second place Sisk Park Team 3, consisting of Tony Racano, Gary Vacin, Maggie Klingberg and Fred Ruff.

Finishing third and fourth, respectively, were Sisk Park Team 2 (Ralph Falvo, Jim Roberts, Mary Ruff and Fritz Derheim) and Team 1 (Mike Buscaglia, Frank Broley, Les Klingberg and Sue Donovan.

Competing for the Oasis Team were: Team 5, Richard Huska, Nancy Vanderslice, Carol Anderson and Kelly Dennis; Team 6, Ann Galleger, Mary Longmire, Jean Parrish and Harley Pansch; Team 7, Richard Hegney, Nancy Field, Val Fazio, and Larry Vanderslice; and Team 8, Larry Prigg, Donna Branscom, Jim Growe and Ann Hegney.

The Oasis Bocce Ball club will host the tournament next year at the Oasis courts in Sun Lakes Sun Lakes Country Club.
