The Sun Lakes Camera Club 2016-2017 season will begin on Thursday, October 6. This year plans to be exciting! Our volunteer members have been tirelessly at work to enhance and build our camera club all summer long. We have new and adventurous field trips along with a new and improved competition site plus educational speakers offering their expertise from editing to lens selection. Come join us in the Navajo Room at Sun Lakes Country Club at 6:30 p.m. to learn more! Looking forward to having everyone back for another great year of fun and images!

The Arizona Camera Club Council will have their Fall Round Up in November 2016. Be sure to get your prints to Lynn Thompson by October 6 and submit your projected image selections online by October 7. Any questions, visit arizonacameraclubcouncil.org or sunlakescameraclub.com for more details and contact information.

The Competition Committee presented our new competition site to the members in September. Any questions about functionality and competition in general, contact Wayne Divoky at [email protected] Valid email addresses and current membership required.

Our camera club will have a table at each community Open House held throughout the month of October; come sign-up to become a member and learn more about us. Check us out and all the great imagery, too. Members please contact Burt Williams at 602-354-0266, Janet Ballard at 602-621-3344 or Linda Davis at 480-794-0170 to coordinate your volunteer time and location. In addition, any members who have interest in coordinating travel and trips contact Karen Melching at [email protected] or Burt Williams at [email protected]

The Sun Lakes Camera Club has a lot of fun whether it’s sharing in photo trips, learning how to edit or reveling in our adventures over dinner. At every stage of our education, we begin with Fundamentals of Digital Photography which starts in mid-November 2016. Seasoned member and educator Dan Dragoon will be returning to offer his knowledge and instruction. This year we have added an additional course for those of you yearning for the next level in photography education. Mastering Your Photo Techniques will be offered beginning in January 2017. Are you looking to improve by taking better pictures or add more creativity to your skills. Either course will provide keen attention to your interests and offer in-the-field photo shoots and class critiques. Contact Dan at [email protected] for more details. Registration begins mid-October. Nominal fee.

The Sun Lakes Camera Club (SLCC) meets the first and third Thursdays from 6:30-8:30 p.m. in the Navajo Room of the Sun Lakes Country Club from October through April. During the summer, the club meets the first Thursday of each month in the Ceramics Room of the Cottonwood Country Club.
