Carol Ritter
Jim Utter retired from the Sun Lakes Duplicate Bridge Club (SLDBC) after 14 years as president. Over these 14 years, he has encountered more than 1,100 club members and is familiar with most of the names. Jim and his wife Eileen, who has supported him every step of the way, were honored at a “retirement” party recently, at which time they were celebrated by current club members.
Over the course of his time as president, his accomplishments included moving the club to its current location of Risen Savior Lutheran Church, introducing electronic scoring and computer reporting of bridge scores, establishing new games for novices, and club-wide emailing of information and results.
Jim was always on top of everything Bridge Club related. He amazed all the members by his dedication to the club. We will miss him but are confident that his successor George Hofer will fill those big shoes with as much enthusiasm and dedication as Jim.
See you at the bridge table, Jim and Eileen!
