Have you ever wondered what your family name means? Surnames can tell you where your ancestors are from, what occupations they had and who their relatives were generations ago. Come to the November 16 Sisterhood meeting at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel House in Sun Lakes to hear Esther Spear discuss “What’s in a Name: The Genealogy of Jewish Surnames.” At the December 21 meeting, a representative from the Arizona Jewish Historical Society will present “Love and Marriage – Cultural Evolution of Jewish Weddings from 1912-2016.” The January 18 meeting will welcome Cantor Ronda Polesky who will speak about “The Role of Women Cantors in Music and Prayer.”

The Sisterhood welcomes everyone to their meetings on the third Thursday of each month at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel House in Sun Lakes.

Save the date of Monday, February 12, 2018, for the annual Card Party charity event that will be bigger and better than ever at the Oakwood Clubhouse in Sun Lakes.
