Sun Lakes United Methodist Church (SLUMC) will again host Tuesday Nights Together (TNT) in June, July and August at 6:30 p.m. in Lindsay Hall. Topics vary from light and entertaining to serious and informational. The programs last about an hour, reservations are not required, everyone is welcome and admission is free. SLUMC is located at 9248 E. Riggs Road (west of the Robson library.)

June 5 – Eight Decades of an Extraordinary Voice and Still Singing!: The TNT season opens with a singalong! Cris Evans, SLUMC Choir Director and vocalist Don Price will lead you through an evening of musical memories with well-loved songs and a singalong through eight decades of music! Don’t miss this exciting musical event.

June 12 – DNA Testing for Family History: An introduction to the three most popular DNA tests and how they can be used to confirm relationships with ancient ancestors, resolve family tree conflicts or even help an adoptee discover a biological parent. Denny Steele will show you how much you can achieve with just a simple DNA test and some basic understanding using examples from his own family tree.

June 19 – How we retired early, built a yacht and lived aboard for 10 years!: Claire and Paul Smith learned they not only owned too much “stuff,” but it was getting to the point where their “stuff” owned them. They both quit their jobs, sold almost all of their “stuff”, had a boat built and moved aboard to live on and sail the Atlantic Ocean, even though they had never sailed before. Tonight, they will recount how you learn, live and become “full-time cruisers” for 10 years, and then return once again to be “dirt-dwellers.”

June 26 – A Laughing Matter: Kathleen Thoren, MA, is a Licensed Counselor with the Scottsdale Relationship Center who has more than 25 years of experience working with individuals, couples and small groups. During this workshop, you will personally experience the benefits of laughter and learn how to use laughter as good medicine for yourself and others. Leave with new ideas and changes to mind, body and spirit. Kathleen’s expertise and many years of experience have made her a well-known presenter around the valley.
