When someone you love passes away, your journey of grief begins. Such a journey is unique to each individual and can be surprising in the way it evolves over time. Well-meaning family and friends can seek to comfort you, and yet, the pain of your loss still remains. If you find yourself struggling to cope with your grief and looking for healing and comfort, consider being a part of the GriefShare class which meets at Sun Lakes United Methodist Church.
The 13-week class, which meets from 10:00-11:30 a.m., will be held every Thursday morning from August 27 through November 19 in Classroom 1 of the Education Building. Rev. Jean Newell, Associate Pastor at Sun Lakes UMC, will be the facilitator. So many times we are intentional about caring for others who grieve or think we can handle our own grief by ourselves when – if the truth be known – we need help just as much as others do! If you have experienced the loss of a loved one and have been feeling the need to talk with someone about your journey of grief, please consider being a part of SLUMC’s GriefShare class. Each lesson is self-contained, so if you are not able to attend every class, please know you are welcome to come as often as you can.
The class registration fee of $15 covers the cost of the workbook. Register online with credit card at www.sunlakesumc.org or with check or cash at the church office at 9248 E. Riggs Road, Sun Lakes. If you would like more information about GriefShare, please call the church office at 895-8766. Space is limited.
