Our members have a summer project to work on for the Wuertz Gourd Festival near Casa Grande next February. Each patch of the Arizona Gourd Association will be represented by their unique project. The projects will be placed in the Game of Chance at the Festival and are well worth the price of the tickets.
The Gourding in the Pines retreat at Prescott May 7-10 was attended by a few of our members at Chapel Rock enclave. The attendees learned how to make Rock Art Impressions taught by Kristy Dial; Jumping Cholla carving taught by Deb Williams; Doodling on Gourds taught by Bette Lake; and lastly Desert Treasure Montage taught by Kristy Dial. It was a delightful fun-filled weekend with lots of healthy meals in a semi-rustic setting.
Our last meeting of the 2014-2015 season was held on May 21.
If you are interested in losing yourself in the art of gourding, do not hesitate to contact Vicki McKenna at 480-802-1632. The Patch meets monthly on the third Thursday of the month at the Arts and Crafts Room in Sun Lakes Country Club and visitors are welcome.
