The IronOaks Tennis Club Masters Tennis program is ideal for beginning players, injury-recovering players, and anyone with mobility issues.

IronOaks Tennis Club (IOTC) offers a new spin on tennis, ideal for beginning players or those with injuries or mobility challenges. Masters Tennis sounds like it’s reserved for seasoned champions, but it’s almost the opposite.

Masters Tennis is very similar to the actual sport of tennis, except it’s played on a smaller, 60-foot court with a slower ball. Players can use the tennis racquet they already own.

What makes Masters Tennis so great is that it’s easy to learn, fun to play, social, and keeps people active. It’s also ideal for beginning players and experienced players who may be recovering from injuries or who find themselves with less mobility or agility than they used to have.

Masters Tennis also has a more straightforward way of scoring points. Scoring is numerical, using the 1-2-3-4 system. The first person or team to win four points wins the game. The first person or team to win six games wins the match. Players switch sides of the court every four games.

The IronOaks Tennis Club will offer Masters Tennis play on select weekdays at the IronOaks tennis courts. If you’re interested in participating, reach out to Tony Simonelli at [email protected] to be added to the email contact list.
