Pickleball St Paddy’s Day social

Janet Myrick

Pickleball players competed in a St. Paddy’s Day social on March 18. There were eight teams, 32 players and four court monitors. Players were put to a test of skill, stamina and strategy in team pickleball. Seven round robin games were played on a very warm day. Games consisted of rotating people at random by a captain of each team. Players picked up immediately with the complicated rules of the game. The games were very even.

The first place team captained by Tibby Landwehr, Krissy Thompson, Jon Bowerman and Monica Dickens scored 54 points, defeating second place team captained by Sue O’Connell, Jim Berney, Claudia Farrer and Jan Krueger who scored 53 points.

Polly Giessing made corned beef sandwiches with onions, mustard and sauerkraut. There was a wonderful spread of goodies brought by all. Nancy Bowerman made the very cute prizes.

Thank you to all who helped make this social a huge success!

In April, we will be having Club Championship matches.
