Tracy Myers has been a Sun Lakes resident since 1997 and a member of the Chandler-Gilbert Community College Community Band, where he plays the clarinet, since 2005. The CGCC Community Band is a mixture of musicians from high school and college students to professionals and retirees, with a wonderful blend of music. Myers got to celebrate his 90th birthday in style with their most recent program featuring hits from Broadway shows, and they played to an almost full house. That in itself says a lot, since there was a heavy rainstorm that night. “It’s the best kept secret in Sun Lakes. They have many concerts throughout the year for free at their Performing Arts building.” Myers said. Outside of a love of music, Myers said, “It keeps me young.”
