Sun Lakes annual Dementia Conference will bring international dementia expert Teepa Snow to town on Wednesday, March 29. Don’t miss this free family event, “Dementia Care Without the Fight – Becoming a Better Care Partner,” on Wednesday, March 29, at Sun Lakes United Methodist Church from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Complimentary lunch will be served.
Teepa Snow is one of the world’s leading educators on dementia care. She will be in Sun Lakes to help families learn how to live with dementia more successfully. As an occupational therapist of 40 years, Teepa’s approach to care is based on looking at our loved ones’ capabilities and both emphasizing and teaching a “Positive Approach to Care™” that makes use of the skills they still retain. Teepa’s goal is helping everyone to both understand and support those who are living with brain change to live their best lives with physiologically based supportive care tools and engagement from their care team.
Sun Lakes United Methodist Church, a partner in the Dementia Friendly Sun Lakes initiative, will once again be hosting the annual Dementia Conference featuring Teepa Snow and Elaine Poker-Yount, a certified trainer of Teepa’s Positive Approach to Care™, along with some special guests, and a resource fair will complete the day’s agenda. The event is free to families. RSVP to [email protected] or call 480-203-8548.
