Sun Lakes Arts and Crafts Assocation news

Diana Ellis

Attention all crafters and artists, the club will hold its annual general meeting on Monday, October 10 at 10:00 a.m. in the Friendship Room in Sun Lakes Country Club.

In an effort to save money, members will not be mailed show application forms this year. Instead the application is available on our website. If you are unable to attend the meeting you can still print the application and mail it, along with your check, to Pat Nicholiasen. Her mailing address and contact information is on the website.

All members and anyone interested in becoming a member are welcome to attend, at which time we will hold a short meeting, followed by registration for our Fall Arts and Crafts Show. There will be elections for Board positions including the position of Treasurer. Interested members can contact the club President Pat Nicholiasen at 480-883-3231 for more information. New memberships can be purchased at the meeting.

The association would like to thank our outgoing Treasurer Gary Tymn for his many years of service to the association. The association is sorry to be losing such a great treasurer. His experience and knowledge will be missed.

The Fall Show and Sale is scheduled for Saturday, November 26 at the Sun Lakes Country Club.

Just a reminder to members that the display case at Sun Lakes Country Club is updated on the first Monday of the month at 9:00 a.m. by Vel Boardman (phone 480 895 5028). Members are invited to bring their items for display and to pick up items from the previous month. The display case is a great place to showcase your talents and make people aware of what will be offered at the spring and fall shows.

The club has partnered with Local First Arizona and their Buy Local Movement to help promote local businesses and products. Craft sales, like ours, are a great way to support local artists and to buy locally made items. Visit the http://www.localfirstaz.com/ for more information about Local First Arizona and the buy local movement.
