Sun Lakes’ busy fall season is here again!

Elaine Kraemer, President, Cottonwood Palo Verde Foundation

Welcome back to those of you who were traveling this past summer! The weather in Sun Lakes is warm and lovely in October, and some activity is scheduled every time you turn around. Keep your calendars handy!

The Cottonwood Palo Verde Foundation is operating at full-throttle as well. We will continue to hold fundraising 50/50 raffles one hour before shows and concerts in the San Tan Ballroom. The funds raised by the 50/50 raffles help the Cottonwood Palo Verde Foundation contribute to local non-profit organizations and worthy projects such as the following:

Neighbors Who Care, Chordaires Show Chorus of Sun Lakes, Sun Lakes Creative Engagement Partners, Bradshaw Tennis Tournament, Sun Lakes Arts & Crafts Association, Cottonwood Tennis Club, Sun Laks Community Theatre – Children’s Theatre Group, The Perfect Place Adult Day Services

The shows scheduled for the rest of 2018 are as follows:

The Glen Campbell Story – Tuesday, September 25, at 7:00 p.m.

Chicago – Tuesday, October 23, at 7:00 p.m.

The American Bombshells – Tuesday, November 13, at 7:00 p.m.

So This Is Christmas – Tuesday, December 4, at 7:00 p.m.

Tickets for these shows are $20 each at the Cottonwood Palo Verde Homeowner Services Office.

The Third Annual Sun Lakes Fun Walk is scheduled for 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 3, 2018! Be sure to register for one of the three thoroughly-enjoyable walks: 1/2 mile, 1 mile or 2.7 miles, by October 12. The $20 registration fee includes a Fun Walk t-shirt and goodie bag, an awesome Kick-Off Party on Friday, November 2, at 5:30 p.m. with fruit, veggie and cheese platters and raffle prizes! Registration forms are available online at www.cottonwoodpaloverdefoundation.org or at Cottonwood Palo Verde Homeowner Services.

Another “can’t miss” event will be the Eat, Drink & Be Merry Dinner on Tuesday, December 18, 2018. This is an elegant evening with delicious food, celebrated in the festively-decorated San Tan Ballroom at Cottonwood Country Club with music by the Riff Raff band. The Cottonwood Palo Verde Foundation will have wonderful wine, gourmet food and various theme baskets to raffle off to raise funds. Dinner tickets are $25 each and will be sold at Cottonwood Palo Verde Homeowner Services. It’s so much fun to organize a table of friends to enjoy a lovely evening together! Hope we see you there!

The Cottonwood Palo Verde Foundation is very pleased to welcome a new addition to our board of directors, Frank Gould. Frank brings years of professional communication and computer skills to our Foundation. He and his wife Carol have lived in Sun Lakes for 13 years. During that time, Frank has served on the IronOaks HOA Board of Directors, IronOaks Golf Committee, Men’s Oakwood Golf Association, Ironwood Men’s Golf Association and on the Board of Directors of Neighbors Who Care for several years.
