Happy New Year, photographers! Hope you’ve had your rest and are ready for a year of fun and creative image making. What better way to start then with our educational and hands-on course.
Back by high demand, the Sun Lakes Camera Club will be offering Fundamentals of Digital Photography. Our popular class will be instructed by Dan Dragoon. The course consists of 10 two-hour sessions held on Tuesday evenings, covering all that is needed to become a better photographer, such as perspective, lighting and automatic and manual exposure. Classes are January 9 through March 13, 2018, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. in the Cottonwood Ceramics Room, 25630 S. Brentwood Drive. There is a one-time fee of $50 ($40 for club members). Go to sunlakescameraclub.com or contact Dan Dragoon at [email protected] for more details, sign-up and FAQ.
Featured Images: Taking a Nap, by Raul Lopez, was taken in Havana, Cuba. The individual is what they call a Bici taxi driver whose purpose is to transport people in the two-seat buggy. Tourists are informed to be cautious when using this means of transportation, as they are perceived as being unsafe. However, due to their inexpensive, even cheap, rates, they are seen all over the city. From the looks of this “cabby,” he’s been busy. London Tower, by Mac Davey, shows us the iconic structure at night. His unique use of the creative tools offered by Adobe’s software, Elements, is breathtaking. Inquire about his tutorials at any club meeting.
Events: January 2018 – Lake Havasu Balloon Festival with Kerrick James is the weekend of January 18 to the 20th through Arizona Highways Photography Workshops.
