The next monthly meeting of the Sun Lakes Card Markers will be on the third Wednesday of August (Aug. 17) at 1 p.m., in the Arts and Crafts Room of Sun Lakes Phase 1. Our members often meet for lunch at the Sun Lakes Grill at 11:30 a.m., and new, interested Sun Lakers are invited to join us for a “meet and greet.” If lunch is not for you, just show up at 1 p.m. in the Arts and Crafts Room and check us out.

We have no dues and only ask that members be familiar with basic card making and have a basic card making kit to bring to the meeting (black stamp pad, glue or tape runner, scissors, small paper cutter, colored pencils or markers) and a willingness to be open to new ideas. Each member takes a month and designs two or three cards and makes a card kit (for their designs) to distribute to the other members. We also design a card-based calendar for the following year, with each member taking a month and designing a 6”x6” picture for their month and making one for each member. In the fall, the designs are exchanged, so everyone has a full 12-month calendar.
