Getting ready. Working hard. Practicing with intensity. All for gearing up to the upcoming Spring Concert. This year our concert is on March 26, a little later than usual. But we will need all that extra time to prepare for some of the many songs slated for this program.
We will be featuring a more than usual number of soloists and even a quartet. The list of songs is long, but it promises to be entertaining, and we know you will enjoy it.
We are also getting ready for our annual Spring Dinner. We’ll be at Palo Verde (inside this time), and it is a great time for us to chill out, mingle, and enjoy a good meal. It’s also an opportunity for us to take a deep breath just a few days before our spring program.
Following the Spring Concert, we will have one more event—our annual meeting. Here we vote for board members for the coming year and we get a chance to express our likes (and sometimes dislikes) about happenings in the past season. Then we go on our spring/summer break until the fall rehearsals start up. So many of our members are snowbirds and head for home (cooler) residences during our blistering summer months. But many of us tough it out here, too. You are never too far from a Chorale member!
The dates for our usual Ticket Tuesdays prior to the concert have not been firmed up yet, but we’ll get the word out in plenty of time for those who want advance tickets, and members will begin selling tickets fairly soon. Talk to your neighbors who are members of the Chorale, and watch for flyers and signs throughout the communities with pertinent announcements, etc. Once again, we will sell tickets for only $10—a real bargain for such a good program!
Follow us here throughout the summer months for any news about the Chorale. And remember, if you love to sing, come join us. Starting in the fall, you have until Oct. 31 to come join and be part of this amazing group of singers.
There will not be another Splash issue after this one in time for the March 26 program, so put us on your calendar and don’t miss another night of good music, compliments of the Sun Lakes Chorale.
Remember, our Spring Concert is on Thursday, March 26, at Sun Lakes United Methodist Church at 7 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
