The 2026 Sun Lakes Chess Club Championship will be a four-round event using chess clocks (provided) with 30 minutes per side time allotted for all moves. Rounds will be held on four consecutive Saturdays: March 7, 14, 21, and 28.
This one-game-per-Saturday format with no entry fee and no club membership requirement will be open to all interested players within our local area. Matches will be held in the Cottonwood Arts & Crafts Room (A-8). We will use a Swiss System pairing method to ensure competitive matches against opponents of similar strength.
We will convene at 10 a.m. on March 7 for a meet and greet and to share housekeeping information and answer any questions before the first round begins.
The start time is no later than 11 a.m. and will finish no later than noon each Saturday beginning on March 7 and each Saturday through March 28.
