A Dog Gone, it’s Spring dinner and entertainment event took place on April 12 in the Arizona Room of the Sun Lakes Country Club. A delicious Italian dinner was served for $10 per person. As usual, the food, service and decorations were outstanding.
The evening began with Shannon Trottier singing Handel’s Jubal’s Lyre from the Ontario Joshua. Joanna Banta accompanied her on the piano. Shannon is Pastor Don Hendrick’s granddaughter. The crowd really enjoyed her singing and gave her an enthusiastic round of applause to show their appreciation.
After dinner the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office had two deputies present information about their K-9 unit. The presentation covered the process for purchasing K-9s, the countries from which they purchase them, an overview of the training curriculum and how the deputies work with their K-9 officers. The presentation lasted 30 minutes and then a K-9 was brought in to demonstrate how it responds to orders regarding obedience and attack. The audience of 115 people cheered the presentation.
This outstanding event was organized by Donna Bailey and Eden Carter. As always, Butch provided the centerpieces and Eden found balloons with dog paws that floated above the dining tables.
