Sun Lakes Community Theatre – January 2026

Valentine’s Day Show on the Way February 14

The ImproVables are on fire! They have been performing once a month, on average, and another great show is in the works. (January’s upcoming show will take place on the 14th, but it sold out almost immediately when tickets went on sale.) Sun Lakes Community Theatre’s comedy improv troupe is excited to perform in Sun Lakes at HOA 1 in the Navajo Room on Feb. 14, Valentine’s Day, for a sweetheart of a show. Tickets for the show go on sale Tuesday, Jan. 13, at www.slctinfo.com. Tickets are only $15 for the show and include one free beverage of choice (excluding premium brands). Guests are encouraged to check out the buffet in the Sunset Grill if they would like to enjoy dinner before the show. Reservations are encouraged. Each Saturday has a different theme, so check it out!

Every show is unique when The ImproVables perform, because audience members provide many ideas, locations, relationships, or events. The show’s director, Phyllis Novy, creates a wide variety of scenes (or games, as the improv troupe calls them) to delight and entertain patrons.

What better way to celebrate the day that is dedicated to love and friendship? The ImproVables love to perform and to make people laugh! Tickets sell out quickly, so don’t miss your chance to be entertained by this talented group of wacky comedians.

The ImproVables Slayed ‘em at Clarendale Senior Facility

Audiences were delighted by the entertainment provided by Sun Lakes Community Theatre’s comedy improv group, The ImproVables. Only a small handful of residents had ever seen live improv performed before. The laughs were hearty and steady as the troupe’s antics surprised everyone with their wit and skills. Volunteers from the audience also had the room in stitches as they used their voices to mimic sounds at a baseball game (sometimes unsuccessfully, which only made it funnier). “It was so fun just to laugh so much!” one of the residents said at the conclusion of the show. Many residents expressed a desire for another show in the future. The members of The ImproVables had a great time, too, “The energy in that room was incredible!” said one of the performers. “Yes, and the audience’s energy fed ours!” said another.

The ImproVables have been performing for several years and are available for events, parties, or performances anywhere in the Southeast Valley. For information about booking the comedy troupe, contact Phyllis Novy at 480-481-6564 or phyllismyers@yahoo.com.
