Sun Lakes Contract Bridge Club President Jim Utter takes great pleasure every year in celebrating the success and volunteer activities of club members. He uses four annual awards, each with different criteria to achieve this goal. After an individual winner’s name is engraved on his award, he or she may display it for one year. It is returned at the end of the year and engraved with the next winner’s name. No one may win the same award a second time.
This year the Don Krogh Service Award was presented to Bonnie Butler and Barbara Lubsen for their tireless efforts in securing compatible partners for players. The Nancy Espy Award was given to Eric Larson who met the criteria of starting the year with less the 100 master points. Anne Newman started the year with fewer than 1,000 master points and qualified to win the Clark Perkins Award. The Bev Flagg Award was earned by John Euler for starting the year with less than 2,500 master points. President Utter spent additional time listing other achievements earned by a number of the club’s membership during the previous year.
The awards were made and the game began. In all it was another really good year for Sun Lakes Contract Bridge Club.
