President’s Message
Leonard Horst
It is my pleasure to say hello for the first time as your board president of SLHOA2. My wife Maidy and I have been visiting Sun Lakes for over 30 years and have owned our home in Palo Verde since mid-2008. We thoroughly enjoy the lifestyle and the opportunity to serve the great people of our community.
I want to welcome our newest board member Glenn Martinsen and our returning board member Bud Jenssen as they begin their three-year terms on the board. Both have lived in Sun Lakes for over 20 years and have a history of service to our community.
We held our annual meeting on March 30 in the San Tan Ballroom. There were several presentations by management and the board during this time. I was pleasantly reminded of the many projects that were completed during the year as we continue to preserve and protect our active adult lifestyle. It was good to hear of all the continuing and new projects on the drawing board for the coming year. The new Computer Learning Center is fully on track to be complete and in use this month. We look forward to welcoming you to this exciting addition to our complex and will be providing much more information soon.
It’s that time of year we say, “See you later,” to our neighbors who are returning to their primary homes across the country and in Canada. We wish each of you safe travels and wonderful times with your families back home! We look forward to seeing you back here in the fall.
For those of us who live here year-round, it’s time to be sure you and your home are ready for the hot weather. We’ve already seen many days well into the 90s and know what is coming! Our services and amenities continue to be available throughout the year, and I encourage you to make use of any and all at your leisure.
Thank you for being a part of our community! Your board, management, and all employees are committed to your safety and enjoyment of this special lifestyle we have been blessed to enjoy! We appreciate your comments and questions at all times and look forward to seeing you around the neighborhood!
