Message from the President
Anne Montgomery
Dear Homeowners,
The American Heritage Dictionary defines “communication” as “a system for communicating: the exchange of thoughts, messages or information.” Our HOA has many ways of keeping our homeowners up to date on all the pertinent happenings in the community as well as providing the opportunity for homeowners to express their thoughts. For example, there are monthly agenda planning meetings and board of directors meetings. These meetings are where you will learn of policy changes, upcoming projects, and how our Capital Improvement and Capital Reserve monies are being spent and why. In addition, there are the regular (September to May, generally) monthly meetings of our nine standing committees, and the occasional ad hoc workshops. All meetings are posted in advance with date, time, and location. Each of these meetings is open and homeowners are welcome. There is a place on each agenda for homeowner questions and comments. We also have the weekly printed Friday Flyer and the General Manager’s emailed In the Know on Tuesdays, both of which can be accessed on our website. Last but not least, there is the website itself which contains a wealth of information across a broad range of subjects. It only requires a little effort to be fully and accurately informed and to have your comments and concerns heard and questions answered. This is your communication toolbox. We invite you to take advantage of it.
Fitness Activity Center (FAC) Update: As you are reading this, construction of our new facility has been completed! The next step will be to install and place the new equipment and test those items that run on power to be sure they are operating correctly. With this done and a few odds and ends taken care of, we will be ready for the Grand Opening. If that date and time has not yet been published, stay tuned to The Flyer and In the Know for the date and details. If you haven’t yet been by Homeowner Services to get your barcoded homeowner’s card, do so, as it will be required for entry into the new facility.
Introducing Miguel Vargas, our October Employee of the Month: Miguel has been employed by Cottonwood Golf Maintenance for over 25 years! Miguel’s duties include checking carts and equipment to ensure they are operating correctly. He diagnoses mechanical failures and repairs them to specifications. Miguel is intelligent, well organized, and able to operate all of the equipment that he works on. He exceeds expectations and maintains a sunny attitude. Congratulations, Miguel, and thank you for your years of dedicated service to the community. May there be many more!
