UpTown Art Painting Class and Happy Hour
Date: Friday, June 26
Time: 2:00 p.m.-4:30 p.m.
Location: Navajo Room at Sun Lakes Country Club
Cost: $23 per person
Join us for an afternoon of painting and drinks with your friends! UpTown Art brings painting to you with an all-inclusive class that will allow you to leave with your very own masterpiece. The cost of the event includes all the materials you will need, personalized instruction and a complimentary glass of wine. Follow along as an UpTown Artist leads the entire class through painting the selected event picture.
Not an artist? That’s okay! The instructors are there to make it easy for you to follow along and will help individuals as needed.
A cash bar will be available for additional alcoholic beverages. Bring your best friend and buy a bottle of wine to share, or purchase drinks by the glass.
Advance tickets are necessary. Purchase yours today at the Administrative Services desk at Sun Lakes Country Club.

Join us on the first Sunday of each month for our featured omelet station; $7.95 includes a made-to-order omelet served with a featured side item.

Team Trivia is a live hosted trivia game. Play as a solo player or bring your friends to lend a helping hand or mind. Compete against other teams for prizes! Our categories include everything from history, TV, sports, geography, music and just about anything else you can think of. So if you want to show your competition how smart you are this is your chance! And maybe, just maybe, you’ll win a prize for playing.
There is no cost or obligation to play. All materials will be provided free of charge. Just bring yourself and a desire to have some fun! There will be a cash bar available and a chance to win prizes and enter to win the 50/50 raffle!

Happenings at the Sun Lakes Country Club Library

Summer is here (again). What a great time for reading. Our library offers a wide selection of books. The previous best seller collection is located on the shelves next to the fireplace. Did you miss reading that hot best seller? Be sure to check this section when you visit our library.
Two recent best sellers available in our collection are Wolf Hall and Bring up the Bodies. The author, Hilary Mantel, follows Thomas Cromwell from his humble childhood to his status as the powerful advisor to Henry VIII. Many will remember this period in Tudor history. After 20 years of marriage to Katherine, there is no male heir. Henry is in love with Anne Boleyn. These two novels cover these complex times in great depth. This is no Anne of One Thousand Days. These were dark and deadly times.
Many Sun Lake residents watched or recorded Wolf Hall on Masterpiece. Channel Eight broadcast the six part series beginning on April 5. The series is based on Dame Hilary Mantel’s two award winning novels. The third book in the trilogy will be published this year. We have these novels waiting to be checked out, Monday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. If a book is already checked out, you may fill out a request card and you will be called as soon as the books is available. Books can be borrowed for up to two weeks.
