Sun Lakes Dems’ September Meeting to Focus on 2026 Elections

Dwight Flatt

Sun Lakes Democrats will get an opportunity to hear Arizona Secretary of State Adrian Fontes when they attend the club’s Sept. 8 meeting.

Fontes, who is running for re-election in the 2026 race, is a former Marine whose mission has always been to protect our democracy and, as Secretary of State, the integrity of our elections. He will address the issues he sees in the upcoming 2026 election.

Sharing how Democrats plan to win this seat and others will be Jeff Tucker, secretary of the Arizona Democratic Party. Tucker will also address the upcoming election of a new Party Chair in Arizona.

Rounding out the evening will be a representative of the Chandler Unified School District (CUSD) who will discuss the difference between the Bond and Override vote in this year’s Nov. 4 election. Voters will be receiving their ballots by mail for this important election.

In addition to the slate of scheduled speakers, attendees may have the chance to meet other candidates running in the 2026 Primary and/or General Election. Whether it’s state, federal, or local candidates, Sun Lakes Democratic Club (SLDC) meetings are always a great opportunity to get to know the candidates vying for your support.

SLDC is made up of like-minded individuals who are part of over 2,500 registered Democrats throughout the Sun Lakes area promoting an Arizona that works for everyone. We invite you to join us at 6:30 p.m. for a social hour, with the meeting starting at 7 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 8, in the Navajo Room at Sun Lakes Country Club, 25601 E. Sun Lakes Blvd. N, Sun Lakes.

We also invite you to join us at 10 a.m. for our First Friday Coffee on the first Friday of every month at Denny’s, located at 4977 S. Arizona Avenue in Chandler.

We support Matthew’s Crossing Food Bank. Donations can be dropped off at the meeting or made online at matthewscrossing.org. You can receive a receipt for the dollar-for-dollar, tax-deductible donation.
