The Sun Lakes Drum/Sound Circle met at the Veteran’s Oasis Park. The full harvest moon was bright and beautiful. As we drove to the park, just above the horizon was a very large white translucent sphere. The full moon would be the following day. As the moon brightened, several people gathered to relieve stress, relax and enjoy each other’s company.
Veteran’s Oasis Park is a peaceful oasis that isn’t far away and is enjoyed by many. They have walking trails and lakes, flowers and trees, picnic pavilions and a waterfall. The large grassy area is where we met and were greeted by the rabbits after we started to drum and rattle our toys. The outside venue was a great meeting place.
Our drum/sound circle is for Spiritual Empowerment, a celebration of Mother Earth and the full moon and a way to relax and unwind. Our meetings are held the Wednesday of the full moon week each month. Come and join us for a short meditation and lots of sounds. The next circle will be held at the Veteran’s Oasis Park at the northeast corner of Chandler Heights and Lindsey on November 1. We have decided that the December 6 meeting will be held at the Sun Lakes Country Club due to a winter chill in the air in December. They start at 6:30 p.m. to about 8:00 p.m. Bring a chair or blanket and drums, rattles, bells or any other kind of musical instrument. We need more drums to come and play!
