Forty members of the Sun Lakes Garden Club gathered for a field trip to Berridge Nursery on Camelback. Members were met by the owner of the nursery and enjoyed touring the amazing “Seasons” display. The floral designers start decorating in June, to transform their large greenhouse. They have 33 decorated Christmas trees and other beautiful items to get everyone in the mood for the holidays. After the tour of the nursery and greenhouse and shopping, everyone enjoyed a delicious lunch on the patio at Postino restaurant nearby, in the Arcadia area.
The December meeting this month will be replaced by a members-only “Holiday Party in a Barn.” The Greenhouse Gardens and the historic Riggs family barn will host Santa and 60 members for music, games, and a catered lunch at 11 a.m. on Dec. 7.
Check out our monthly newsletters on our website at SunLakesGardenClub.org. There is an option to join online under the “Membership” option. Club memberships are only $20 per year, and a spouse or second member in the household is only $10 per year. We meet on the third Tuesday of the month all year at 9:30 a.m. The meeting location is at the Chapel Center, at 9230 E. Sun Lakes Blvd. N., in Sun Lakes (house next door to the Sun Lakes All Faiths Community Church and across the street from the Sun Lakes Country Club).
