On Feb. 8 a handful of Jeep enthusiasts from Sun Lakes gathered to hit the trails near the Superstition Mountains. It was an epic ride on a beautiful Arizona day on Montana Mountain Loop between Queen Valley and Superior, Ariz. There were five Jeeps with 11 participants exploring Hewitt Station Road and Happy Camp Canyon Road. We saw the Elephant Arch, creek beds, washed-out areas from summer flooding, thousands of saguaro, and a rattlesnake crossing the road, and we traveled through desert flatlands to cliffside vistas with spectacular views. We stopped on the Montana Mountain peak for lunch overlooking valleys, canyons, and mountain ranges as far as you could see.
