Sun Lakes Jewish Congregation

Joyce Spartonos

As we look about and see the beautiful cacti and flowers in bloom, it reminds us that spring is here, bringing renewed life to nature and we humans, as well. Sun Lakes Jewish Congregation isn’t quite ready to start in-person services (hint, hint, but that’s a subject for a future article). We do have a beautiful May virtual service in the offing.

The Congregation’s virtual May service, via YouTube, is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Friday, May 14. Along with honoring mothers, in celebration of Mother’s Day, Sun Lakes Jewish Congregation’s Service will be dedicated to commemorating the holiday of Shavuot. Shavuot celebrates Moses receiving the tablets with the Ten Commandments from God on Mt. Sinai.

As you can imagine, our esteemed Rabbi Wiener will, as always, have a most beautiful service prepared for us. And let’s not forget our wonderful Cantor Ronda Polesky and her outstanding accompanist Shea Marshall who enchant us with their fabulous musical talents.

As always, Sun Lakes Jewish Congregation welcomes and encourages the entire community to join us. See you next time.
