The Sisterhood board of directors has a full slate of interesting programs lined up for Fall 2025 and for 2026. Our first meeting will feature Mariana Laufer, former ballerina from the Bucharest Ballet in Romania. She is also the author of the memoir Over Three Big Lakes: Surviving Adversity. The meeting will take place on Thursday, Oct. 16, at 1 p.m. in the Chapel Center.
On Saturday, Nov. 1, our Sisterhood members will proudly present a special Sisterhood Shabbat at 10 a.m. in the Chapel Center. There will be a Kiddush/light brunch following the services. There is no charge for Sisterhood members, but reservations and a $10 deposit check are required due to limited seating and to plan for anticipated attendance. On Thursday, Nov. 20, Jody Crago, the director of the Chandler Museum, will present a program about the famous photographer Dorothea Lange. Ms Lange, known for her iconic images taken during the Great Depression, visited Chandler three times during the 1930s and 1940s. We will see many of the photographs that she captured through her camera lens.
Save the date: Our annual fundraiser Games Galore (previously known as Card Party) will take place on Feb. 23, 2026, at the Oakwood clubhouse. It will feature fabulous gift baskets, a cash raffle, a delicious lunch, and home-baked goods for our bake sale. More details to follow soon.
