The Keyboard Connection of Sun Lakes made two presentations in December, one for the Tempe Grace Community Church XYZ Group and the other for the Sun Lakes Women’s Connection. The hour-long program included special arrangements of Christmas carols, numbers from the Nutcracker Suite and Ukrainian Bell Carol. Other selections included Winter Wonderland, I’m Dreaming of a White Christmas, Let It Snow, Silver Bells and Jingle Bell Rock. Gene Cline was their tenor soloist on those numbers. Also included was The Twelve Days of Christmas with audience participation.
With the keyboards, the group can be a string or a brass ensemble, a steel band or an orchestra of several instruments. There may be an oboe solo or a harp solo. All of this comes from the sampled sounds within the keyboard.
Members of the group have varied levels of piano or keyboard experiences, from very little to advanced. The director assigns parts accordingly.
