The Sun Lakes Lady Niners have continuously raised funds for causes they believe in. This year, instead of supporting a national group, they decided to raise money that would stay here in our Sun Lakes community. The first name that came up was the Sun Lakes fire district. The Sun Lakers Niners wanted to purchase something specific and, working with SLFD Deputy Chief Helie, they agreed to purchase two hazardous gas monitors for each of Sun Lakes two firehouses at a cost of $3,000. To raise these funds, two events were held; a golf tournament and a garage sale, plus a generous contribution from their treasury.
