March should be a month with no frost delays or cancellations, so plans are to golf more and, hopefully, there will be winning golf scores to report next month.

A group of Niners will travel to two different invitationals this month, one on March 9 at Apache Wells in Mesa and another one on March 11 at Shalimar in Tempe. The ladies always bring home many prizes after enjoying a day of golf with neighboring golfers.

Rally for a Cure will be celebrated with a Scramble on March 29. Donna Sullivan will chair this event. Watch for announcements and emails for details. It is important to participate in this event, so please sign up and be supportive of the Rally for a Cure.

The Sun Lake Niners have two major tournaments during the year, the President’s Cup and the Club Championship. The winners are determined by five lowest league scores taken from the current season (November 1-March 31st). For the President’s Cup, the five lowest net league scores are used, and for the Club Championship the five lowest gross league scores are used to determine the winners. On April 9, an Awards Banquet will be held in the Navajo Room to honor the winners of these two tournaments.
