Worldwide, Lions Club International recognizes outstanding individuals by bestowing on them an award that is named after its founder, Melvin Jones. This award is the highest form of recognition and embodies humanitarian ideas and actions consistent with the nature and purposes of Lionism.

Three Sun Lakes Breakfast Lions were presented with Melvin Jones fellowships this year: current President Bob Glantz for his tireless work since joining the Sun Lakes Breakfast Lions Club (SLBLC), Flag Program Director Debra Curry, who handles the Show Your Colors Sun Lakes program and raises so much money for worthwhile programs, and member Joe Garner who received his for many years of loyal service. Making the presentations was SLBLC past president and past District Governor Jim Brotherton.

If you’d like to join the Sun Lakes Breakfast Lions, contact them at 480-242-4356 or  [email protected]. Use the same number or email if you’d like to fly a flag during major holidays. The SLBLC is the only club where you can proudly fly the flag of your armed forces career as well as our new first responders flag.
