These 16 couples had a blast at the SLOGO October 6-9!
The annual Sun Lakes Overseeding Golf Outing (SLOGO) took place October 6-9 in the beautiful red rocks of Sedona, AZ; 16 IronOaks couples participated in a fun, two-day team competition. There was one catch; couples were not allowed to play on the same team.
Day one took place at the scenic and challenging Oak Creek Country Club. The staff was outstanding; talk about first class service! The game for day one was Hopscotch. The winning team included Dick Schmidt, Barry McGilvra, Kathy Burns and Barb McMullen. Winners for Closest-to-the-Pin were Sue Richmond, Ruth Ann McGilvra, Willie Foster and Rod Richmond.
Day two was played at the beautiful and tranquil Sedona Golf Resort. Play of the day was Two Best Balls. The winners for day two were Dick Schmidt (hope I am on his team next year!), Manfred Mattern, Bev Lutes and Betty Lauer. Winners for Closest-to-the-Pin were Bev Lutes, BJ Schuller, Dave Higgins and Willie Foster.
All in all, it was a great time! A special thanks to our hosts, Jim and Dessa Hutchins, Faye and Gene McIntyre and BJ and Larry Schuller. The group truly appreciates all the time and effort the committee spent in organizing and executing an outstanding outing!
