Sun Lakes Posse Is Making a Difference in the Community

On Saturday, Oct. 8, the Sun Lakes Sheriff’s Posse attended the very successful Open House at Cottonwood. It was great to see all the residents returning in person and having those one-on-one conversations again.

We heard many stories of how our Medical Equipment Loaner Program makes a difference in our community and just how much our residents appreciate our Sun Lakes Sheriff’s Posse marked patrol units being out in our community seven days a week.

We have medical equipment that we loan out to Sun Lakes residents free of charge. We also handed out many applications to residents who were interested in joining the Sun Lakes Sheriff’s Posse.

At our table, joining us was Marta from the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office Community Liaison Outreach Division. We had several handouts that had information on crime prevention and how to protect yourself from scams.

It was great to see so many people stop by and thank us for our service, and we are looking forward to seeing our community members again on Oct. 29 at our semi-annual DEA drug take back and sensitive document shred event, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., at the northeast corner of Riggs and Alma School Roads.

We also have a Red Cross blood drive coming up on Dec. 2. See the details on our website, www.sunlakesposse.org.
